Hunting books

I have collected quite a few books over the years.  I do not like the "how to" books.  I like real hunting story/history type books.  I would recommend anything by Peter Hathaway Capstick.  Mostly about African hunting, but his books are very entertaining to say the least.  Other entertaining authors in various type hunting/gun related works are, Robert Ruark, Theodore Roosevelt, Col. Charles Askins, Elmer Keith, Thomas McIntyre, James A. Swan, Ted Kerasote just to name a few.  Some of these writers are from yesteryear, some are modern.  Look the names up and anything they wrote is good.

Mapping Trophy Bucks by Brad Herndon and Bowhunting Forest and Deep Woods by Greg Miller. If you're going to read, those two are musts. But I find you learn more in a day in the woods than a week wife a book.

Some how my auto-correct change "week with a book" into "week wife a book".  Does my phone know something about me that I don't?

I've read all four of Asbell's books, Instinctive Shooting, Instinctive Shooting II, Stalking and Still hunting and Advanced instinctive shooting.  He also has a video/dvd that tracks and was produced at the same time as the first book.

The 3 on instinctive shoot build on each other as he develops his theories of the hows and whys instinctive shooting works so well.  Breaks down instinctive shooting very well.  Highly recommended.

The Stalking and Still hunting book will send tree stand hunters into fits!!HaHa It is also extreemly well written and a great read.

G. Fred Asbell also gives an instinctive shooting clinic with Black Widow Bows in Missouri, see either of their web site.  I went to it and it was the best weeks vacation I've ever had.

If you love to read and love or want to shoot purely instinctively, they are in my humble opinion a must read.
