State Record 8-point

I have a thing for huge eights, but I've never seen New York's all-time best 8-point. He was shot in Ontario county by Charlie York in '94. I've been trying to track down a pic but haven't had any luck. If anyone has one or knows anything about it I'd love to see it.

Did you know he was around before you saw him (trailcam pics)? If not, that sure would have been a shock seeing a giant like that from the stand for the first time! LOL

Nope. No pics of him. My first encounter was the year before this pic, he was in the upper 140s, low 150s then. Had 3 encounters, put a slug through his brisket that season. I saw him scouting just days before the guy up the street took him on opening weekend of bow season.

I knew who he was, met him once a couple years before but not a friend or anything. He is now deceased.

I wish I knew what it was like to encounter a record book buck.

Side note, can't wait to see this passed around the globe as an early bow kill.

Whitetail record book of NYS. 15th edition 2009. It's Brocken up by weapon, typical or non.

We have a friend that shot a 167 (as I and Mr B recall) in Wyoming county several years ago...The only pic I have sits on our camp bulletin board.
