fracking saved alot of local communities in PA too, im not surprised. Oil jobs in the dakotas, texas, and fracking up here are about the only part of our economy that's growing right now. Leave it to the Dems to try and do their best to stop the only sliver of hope in the free market.

Fracking has many. many economic benefits, but it may bring environmental costs.  I'm not sure it is as bad as the greenies want us to believe it is.  Right now the Left is doing everything it can to increase the cost of all fossil fuel energy in it's zeal to force "green" alternatives on us, which are not nearly as cheap to use.  So, naturally they will attack fracking to prevent it's success.

I've been to the gas fields in PA.  I've looked into the pollution claims.  I see nothing as bad as it's being made out to be.  No industry is totally pollution free, but weighing all of the advantages against the disadvantages, I can't see a total ban on fracking making sense.

I can understand if you disagree, but everyone I debate this subject with seems to only care about themselves and their own beliefs.  I don't think they ever see the total picture and how it effects the people employed, the economy, the state's prosperity and the country.

people are fine buying major brands like Nike but 90% of the work is outsourced out of our country like the majority of the products bought today.  One of the few kinds that we allow Americans to work on does a great job of destroying our beautiful nation in the process.  I am happy to hear that Americans are being employed because our unemployment rates are ridiculous.  If we were such a proud nation they should pass a federal law stating that any products produced in America get built by American hands IN AMERICA.  We are a nation of make it rich quick and sell out fast.  Even an ice cold bottle of bud is owned by the Germans now.  So use whatever methods we can to destroy whatever's left of this fine country.  While it might supply jobs locally for the time being, don't complain to the government when your kids start developing new forms of cancer and you got no one left to point the finger at but yourself.  If you think were going to get away scott free then you got a big surprise on the way.  Just pray it doesn't come out of that faucet the next time you go to brush your teeth!  Frackin! UMERICA DESTROYIN UUUUMERICA!

What makes you think the water you get out of your faucet now isn't giving you cancer?  If you have scientific data to support your claims, please feel free to post it.  If not, you are simply doing what a lot of scared people do, and that is fear mongering.

Like I said, the advantages and benefits are unquestionable, the negativity and fear mongering is.

This is another one of those topics where each side has it's battery of "experts" and research and studies. Each one looking just as official, complete and authentic as the other. And then we are supposed to form some kind of opinion based on technology that no one here really understands. For example, It would be interesting if only there was one unified opinion that explained in layman's terms just why carcinogens and other brands of poisonous items are the only thing that allows for the extraction of gas via fracking. Yes, I am sure that would lead to a small encyclopedia sized document written in physics-speak that even some of those "experts" would have a wrestling match with.

So how do we disprove a documentary that shows water coming out of a faucet that is highly flamable which is explained to be a direct affect of fracking?

Wasn't it Donald Trump who said, "they've been lighting their water on fire for decades"?

So NY can put moratoriums on fracking, but it is known that the fracking fluid is trucked up to the waste treatment facility in Binghamton so it can be minimally treated before being released into the Susquehanna river. It probably won't be long til Cuomo throws a gas pad on every chunk of state land.

Trump is right about their water being flammable.  Methane gas has been in those water supplies for decades.  The wells tested and showing an issue after fracking began, were never tested prior to fracking.  So it cannot be said there is a cause and effect relationship.  If it were true, there wouldn't be any fracking going on anywhere.  It's an unfounded accusation by people opposed to the energy source, just as they are opposed to the Keystone pipeline.
