I have a serious question that may wind up with more than one answer:

Are those wild geese really good tasting? I have heard mixed opinions. What are the pros and cons  of the wild goose tastes?

As with any wild game preparation is the key. We breast out the geese and then put the breasts in a brine solution for 24 to 48 hours changing the water frequently to get all of the blood out. From there we prepare them in many ways such as putting them in the smoker or crock pot or making sausage. If prepared properly there really are no cons.

Back out this morning. Today we had the pleasure of bringing along 2 new goose hunters and it was a shoot em up day. Total take was 35 birds. Pic is of my son and me and of course my dog Waylon. It is a great reward bringing out new hunters and having them enjoy a good hunt with us.

This morning was our last hunt of the early season. We scored on 18 birds today. It was Gunner's turn today and at 20 months old he did a spectacular job. Gunner found and retrieved 3 of the birds which fell into the standing corn and we probably would have never found all of them without him. You can't say enough good about a good hunting dog.
