What type of tree is this?

Recommended Posts

In this area the wild cherries are gone and don't last long. As soon as they are ripe the coon hit them and can strip a tree completely in a night or two.

Based on what I can see from the picture my vote would be for a Wild Crab apple tree.

Also looks like a potential Buck Rub Tree

Could be a different type of Crab Apple, but the ones we have here have thorns coming off the base.

They also loose their leaves and fruit in late August. The wood is very hard, like Oak. Doesn't last well outside. Makes great handles.
