First-light
Berries or apples keep getting bigger every year. Lots of them also.
airedale
Hard to tell from the picture but it may be some sort of wild cherry. Al
Steve D
In this area the wild cherries are gone and don't last long. As soon as they are ripe the coon hit them and can strip a tree completely in a night or two. Based on what I can see from the picture my vote would be for a Wild Crab apple tree. Also looks like a potential Buck Rub Tree

First-light
Yes that tree got hit one year and I put an end to it. Probably this weekend I'll protect the bottom. I'm thinking crab apple also. Thanks!
suburbanfarmer
Crab apple, put up a safety cage around it. Come first snow these are like candy for deer

landtracdeerhunter
Could be a different type of Crab Apple, but the ones we have here have thorns coming off the base. They also loose their leaves and fruit in late August. The wood is very hard, like Oak. Doesn't last well outside. Makes great handles.
