the blur
I'm doing the last 2 days of rifle, then I'm done. If this year doesn't pan out, I may become an opening weekend hunter. The weather killed me this year. The time & effort, not to mention money. It's crazy. I'm disappointed because I didn't see anything in the woods. I really thought opening weekend would be successful with the rut, and snow on the ground. I would have bet money on opening weekend being successful. Big Indian
I'll be out there too, have not had any luck in my "old faithful" spots. Got an invite to a new place from a friend and hope it works out. Good Luck to all

the blur
State park land. The area is pushed hard early in the season. Now, there should only be a few cars there, if any at all.
G-Man
Get up and walk.it seems 90% of hunters are afraid to or do not know how to still hunt.it's either wait for deer to come to you, or you go to the deer.....
the blur
You call it still hunting. I call it crunching leaves. Which I'm great at crunching leaves.
Taylormike
I understand your frustration but that's hunting. It could turn any second, going from a frustrating season to possibly a record booker. Keep up at it. We all experience good years but the bad years do invite themselves too. zeus1gdsm
My first season this year.... I've been out every weekend of northern and southern rifle.... Multiple different wmu's. Saw 2 doe on ym 2nd outing and nothing since... Put about 1k into the sport as I had to buy everything.. My black guns are too pretty to get beatup in the woods.. I'm getting my muzzleloader tag today and cranking another heavy weekend and hoping for the best... Almost 80 hrs in the woods this year between using sick days/ vaca and the weekends
ncountry
We have to enjoy our time in the woods.. Otherwise , if we relied on deer killed vs time spent, to judge or success, most of us would have quit a long time ago.. lol...
zeus1gdsm
I should also state that I got hooked from my first outing and a bunch crossed the river in front of me like a herd of horses.... And no luck this year is just mother nature catching me up on the missed years since I just started at 30yrs old.. Only the other plus is that as a gear junkie I've had alot of time to refine my system. This sports like crack.
