Doc
I can't imagine why the shape of a blind would make any difference. But then who knows? Somehow you have to see it from the deer's perspective. Are your observations based on a significant number of data points. You want to be sure that the coincidence factor is not effecting your conclusions. Who knows? ..... Maybe you have discovered something of importance to ground blind design. fasteddie
I would think it would be a matter of how each blind blends into the background . Fitting a blind into a brushy area would make it less noticeable than if it was in the open . Dom .... how do you set your blinds up ?
Hock3y24
Deer are pretty blind except when it comes to Movement, either will do fine if you don't have them out in an open field
thphm
I do not think shape makes a difference, I have had them out in the open by them self, behind wood piles and the edge of fields. With deer walk right up to them. I think it is more important to leave them out in an area for some time so the deer get use to them.
growalot
I have noticed that deer do perceive "outlines/skylines" objects....if you are talking quick set ups...brushing in to sides but also for height helps...then again I add turkey decoys around....it takes sight and curiosity off blind to the decoys...watch scent on them though
UnderDog
I do not think shape makes a difference, I have had them out in the open by them self, behind wood piles and the edge of fields. With deer walk right up to them. I think it is more important to leave them out in an area for some time so the deer get use to them. That is the key to have them out for sometime. If they are out there then they get more used to it. The environment change is the biggest thing they notice with blinds. I hunted my blind on state land last year and didnt have any luck because of the constant change. I had my best luck just sitting on the ground next to a tree. G-Man
They just did a study on this can't find the link. Seems round were less picked up. Makes sense as a reflection/refraction no matter how well brushed in is different off a flat wall.vs a curved... I'll keep.looking for the article /link
growalot
G-Man...makes sense...their eye perception...ever see Growing deer tv?....he puts up a 2 parallel strand electric fence just 18 to 2ft. apart...one just 2-3ft. tall..deer won't jump it . Because how their eyes perceive that set up.
