BizCT
.460wby mag, the real mccoy. Probably around $9-$10 a shot. Compared to its contemporaries, the 460 Weatherby Magnum has more energy at 150 yards than the .458 Winchester Magnum does at the muzzle and at a 100 yards more energy than the .458 Lott with factory ammunition. The .460 Weatherby Magnum provides a significant step up in performance over other production .458 caliber (11.6 mm) cartridges. The increased performance is realized in terms of both remaining energy and extended range. Who'd think it would've been cheaper to shoot a 50 cal? Lol
Huntscreek
I'd say If you had a 243,30/06 & 22 rifles are covered. a 12ga Shotgun covers Shotguns. What I consider the best is a Winchester 70 in 270cal.

Here is one I'm trying to sell for a friend, a beautiful Merkel SXS. 11G's takes it........................... Gorgeous Rust Blueing! Holland & Holland also makes a .700 Nitro Express. Ammo is $100 a pop, but after spending $30,000 on the rifle, $100 for a cartridge is relatively inexpensive. One doesn't burn through a lot of it anyway. Lawdwaz
I don't think that is rust blued................. In case you are thinking of making an offer ( )................
Doc
BTW its not the guns its the calibers and Yes You are paranoid :-) I could have 45 guns in 5.56 MOLON LABE.... I just feel a little odd to be vehemently against a gun registration system and then turning around and voluntarily publishing a public listing of all of the guns that I own for anyone to use as they see fit. Right now, no one but myself knows what guns that I own or anything else about my firearms ..... Not the make, model, or caliber, of any of them. I think I'll just keep it that way. wildcat junkie
I don't think that is rust blued................. In case you are thinking of making an offer ( )................ Most double rifles have low temp soldered barrels allowing the re-soldering of the barrels during the regulating process to get both barrels to shoot to the same POI. Hot tank bluing will dissolve the solder bond thus rust bluing is usually employed. Rust bluing is a very expensive process given the time involved. Most high end custom guns are rust blued regardless of configuration given the beautiful soft dark charcoal grey/black results. Here is my 1st attempt at rust bluing. Although my results don't compare to the perfection of the Merkel, note the similar soft, satiny dark gray/black hue of the Merkel & my Mauser rather than the blue/black of hot tank bluing. It took 9 cycles of rusting, boiling & carding to achieve that hue. That probably took more than 40 hours to do all of the parts/pieces. How much do you think a custom gun maker would charge for that? Especially given the much higher labor rates in Europe compared to the USA.. Compare that to a hot-tank blued weapon.
