I was out replacing some mailbox post's today and was able to dig with just a bar and digger's.Only about 4'' of frost this is the first season in years to be able to dig with out jackhammering out atleast a foot of frost.Also at 3.5 feet the soil is very dry

The snowmelt coming needs to come slowly for me.

 

THAT is an understatement in your situation.

 

This week looks to my horribly untrained eye to be a good slow melt......we sure as beans don't need a 50-60 degree day, nowhere nohow.  I don't know where all this water would go if it came too fast........ :(

By the look's of it we all will need a boat by weekend.50 outside my window and the water running down the street is pooling.A slow melt is what we need I don't care what size drain or river we have it will not hold back a rappid thaw
