We have a 3D shoot tomorrow at Suffolk Archers.  Come on down and sharpen your skills on 30 3D targets.  Shoot starts at 9AM with registration and practice starting at 8AM.  I will be their if anyone is interested.   Lets have some fun and shoot some targets! ! !  I believe its 30$ for non members.  If you can't make this one we have another the 13th of September.  Come on down and shoot some foam targets!  It's fun!  Small breakfast and full lunch served.

Should be a good time, we always have a good time!  Nice way to test your ability and have fun with other shooters/hunters.  Sounds good Bruno1, if you have no one to shoot with you are more than welcome to come with me. 

 

Anyone want to meet and greet or have a guild for the course just ask for me, Jeff Calderone.  (We have a few Jeff's.)

How did the shooting go for you today? Even though there weren't as many people as I expected, it was still pretty nice.

I did good, we had alot of fun!  I was laughing so hard at one point it kinda messed my shot up but it was all in good fun and I had a blast!  How did you do ATbuckhunter?

I have the camo arrow.  L-R  Charlie, Me (Jeff), Tom, Chris and Hector.  We had a running deer I shot a 10 on and one of the guys shot it just as it was released and missed, I could not stop laughing and claimed cheater, I felt bad as the other shooters could not stop laughing either.  It was a fun day with great shooting.  Our scores were messed up as we shot 2 arrows the first half of the course but we had a great time and wrote if off as a fun day.  Hector was the only other to get a 10 on the running deer.  Lucky shot for sure.  Here it is.

I did pretty well actually! I shot a 240 which is nothing I can complain about. Your going to find this funny but I was actually in the group right behind you with frank and my father. I was the youngest one wearing the camo hat. I had a feeling that was you, once I heard you and frank talking about the Adirondaks. I absolutely love it at that place and can't wait to join! Now I just have to wait on that waiting list.

      Anyone going to the Total Archery Challenge?  Saw this on U-Tube a few days ago and my friends signed up this week, so I joined in.  Looks like a really cool shoot with some long distance shooting to make it real fun out to 100 yards.  We have 4 of us total going should be a good time.  If your interested in some long distance fun this is the course for you!  Now I just need to get more accurate out past 80 yards!  Looks like I might go to a single pin for this shoot, hoping to get a new bow before we go.  Looking at the Elite Ritual with optimizer lite sight just need to set it up so I can adjust to 100 yards.

      Suffolk Archers is having the annual spring fling on Sunday May 22.  30$ for non members come on out and shoot some targets.  All in good fun.  Light breakfast and full lunch included.  Most shots are in the 20-35 yard range with a few exceptions, shorter for traditional bows.

      First video is edited to be steady with google edit, second two are in original format.  Narrow angle 1080p GoPro Black.  Wish the target was in better view at 30 plus yards...
      I was shooting OK that day but not concentrating on the closer shots... 
       
      Like the camera just wish it was a little better at low light and long distance and battery life, remote is nice to turn it on but drains the battery more.  Head mount works well if you wear a hat, mounting accessories offer many options.  Waterproof enclosure makes sound null but ensures long life in harsh hunting conditions.  Overall good camera with nice features.

      Finally after many requests we have setup an official date to get together and shoot at the 3D range Thrill of The Hunt.       So for the details:
      Date: Saturday March 24th 2012
      Time: 11am (this is tentative)
      Cost per round: Roughly $16 per round
      Its up to you how many rounds you wish to do, I'm thinking I'll do 2 rounds myself.
      I'd love to get an idea of how many people will be attending so I can make sure we have a block of time set aside for us to shoot and its reserved. And I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in us ordering a few hero's and soda / water... If we do have food it would probably be about $5 per person We'll provide hero's and water/soda.
      For for first round of shooting I'll give away a few Hunting NY shirts and hats to the top two scores and maybe a few more t-shirts and I'l see if I can get a jacket or too as well! Its not a competition, however its just something to add a little fun to the get together. We will hammer out the details in the coming weeks.
