eagle rider
got my H size three pack of Nocturnals. They are about 9 grs heavier than my regular Easton nocks. So what do you think about using my reloading scale and some string wax to fill the inside of the Easton nocks up with 9 grs of wax. This way I'm not using the nocturnals for practice (except for maybe just one of the three) and my arrow weight is identical. Or do most of you find the 9 extra grains in the tail end of the arrow doesn't really effect flight?
Mike127
I'd try to shoot the actual nocturnal first and see if it flies differently. I know mine don't fly and different than my regular nocks.

sssurfertim
Never saw a difference between nocturnals and standard knocks.
eagle rider
okay was over thinking it. Shot four 2.5" groups at 35 yes this morning, one arrow with a Nocturnal tail the rest were standard Easton H size nocks. Thanks fellas!
Hock3y24
Just shoot the nocturnals, figure you'll have them on for Maybe a few minutes of practice, they last OVER 20 hours. Also I've found going to a 125 grain broadhead made them fly better for me with greater foc.
Hock3y24
Also depending on your nocks and how they grip the string the resistance may be greater or lesser when leaving the string. Maybe I'm overthinking it!
gfdeputy2
mine made my arrow fly higher on the target at least that is what I am using for an excuse for missing a Doe on tuesday Honestly I don't notice a difference in flight Edited September 17, 2015 by gfdeputy2
WNYBuckHunter
Why not just practice with the Nockturnals? Shoot spots, not groups and you dont have to worry about breaking them.
biggamefish
If you see a difference in the shooting I would not think it is from the weight difference. I would think they might sit on the string a little different (tighter looser etc.)
eagle rider
They're flying right in the rest of the group. I gotta say I'm itching to get into the trees with my bow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
