I need advice on harness

It takes me less than 10 seconds to put the Muddy on. Very easy and has the relief system so if you do fall and can't climb into stand you can run a loop line down to step on to relieve leg pressure which is what will make things real bad for you real quick hanging in a harness if you can't relieve that pressure.

I've always found the relief straps interesting. I am a safety leader at my site and we have fall protection here with the reliefs as well. I find with hunting and with maintenance that they're not in a convenient spot and can easily be wrapped up or twisted. Keep that in mind if you're counting on it to save you from suspension trauma, which can be far more painful and deadly then a fall. Again, I prefer the knife.

Believe me I understand your concern. Not easy to do something hanging from a tree! This relief in in a pouch I have attached to the front loop and slips right into my front pants pocket. No tangle and hopefully easy to get to.

I use this one by HSS...

http://www.huntersafetysystem.com/bowhunter/

Its light, super easy to put on and take off...basically slip it on like a backpack, clip the chest buckle, and clip the two thigh buckles.  DONE.  I wear it under my coat, so I put it on at the car, and then all I need to do when I get to my spot is finish layering up.

As far as using it with my climber, I keep the tree strap in my pocket, attach it to the tree once I'm up about 6-8 feet.  Then I move it up when I need to, and climb up, stop, move strap, climb.....

Honestly it doesnt take that much more time to climb doing this than not.

Not so sure still selling at Bass Pro & Gander mountain

Looks like all they are making (selling) are vests

But of course I could be wrong. I am often!

Yep, looks like its just harnesses for them now. I knew they stopped making stands a couple of years ago. Too bad too, I liked their hang ons.

I also have a Hunter's Safety system in vest form. Very comfortable to wear and walk in for long periods of time. It is also reversible from camo to blaze orange.

Haven't tried the deer drag out yet, but I hear it gets the job done with minimal messing around.
