Fur prices 2015

Can anybody confirm the crappy forecast of fur prices this year ?

Heard basically $0 on coon

Rats and mink about $2

K9's in $teens

Bummer !  Guess my steel is staying in the basement this year. May hunt some coyotes with the electric caller but that's about it

I've seen some really.prime coon, still going after them and hope prices go up I'df not dried and stretched for shipment nextyear

I ran over a big coon on the way to my stand yesterday, I thought for sure he was pancaked.  When I came out a few hours later he was gone.  Tough dude!

Coon not moving due to backlog of stockpile. Rats will get 2 to 4. Good coyote will sell fine.

Dang!  I was hoping to take my boy out trapping for the first time this year.  We have a ton of coons.  I'm not going to waste my time if it doesn't even pay my gas to deliver the hides.

Disappointing to say the least! Have lots of coons, fox, and coyotes on trail cams! Guess the neighbor won't be thinking the critters out for me as much this year!

I'd still take him out, that's reason enough to go.  Just don't worry about a big line, just a good one he will enjoy with you.  Worry about the costs next year.

Actually this may be a good time.  There is no monetary pressure on him.  Would be a good time to learn and just plain enjoy yourselves.  Good year to teach him how to handle the fur and you wont pop a blood vessel if he messes up a hide.

That's what I'm thinking for myself, usually sold green.

 

It's a good time to practice fur handling, washing, skinning, stretching,etc.  without the gut ache of a nicked hide.

Yotes will sell good for good colors and reds will get tanned with me for projects
