Culvercreek hunt club
Nice....how did you attach antlers? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk On the stand, blind post rivets, used all thread as stock so I had grooves on the studs. I put mounting holes in the antlers and epoxied it on (I know. not traditional...lol). On thee tools the antler handles were bored out and then I pinned and epoxied them on. nyslowhand
Should have used a square drill bit, would have become a simple press fit!
Culvercreek hunt club
Should have used a square drill bit, would have become a simple press fit! I actually tried it on the handles. I have a mortise drill set up but the antler was just too damned hard. I was going to try to go thorough a soaking process to soften them up but really didn't want to take the time...lol
Culvercreek hunt club
I apologize for the poor pictures. No matter how I angled it I couldn't get the wire framed to look as good in the picture as it did in person. This is a full sized whitetail mount I forged up. The antlers started out as 1-1/8" square stock. The pieces are welded together. The originals are upright. Wish I could figure this crap out...lol We actually auctioned it off at the banquet this last Saturday.

Neither my propane or coal forge would be big enough to get that in for forge welding.
