Canada banning wood stoves

Recommended Posts

It's just a saying , notice I closed by saying " stay safe" although it came out say. Which meant be careful with fireplaces and candles, stay safe use them safely . I don't want anyone to have a fire , but if they do I want to be the first though the door that's for sure .

The sad fact is people who don't check their fireplaces or wood stoves, use candles improperly , drink, smoke crack, use kitchen stoves for heat and other bad choices are good for business , is just a saying . I've been to well over 20 some fatals, carried a number of dead folks out and managed too save a few as well . One New Years Eve due to the M.E. Being tied up we brought 3 dead burned up kids to,our fire house where I unloaded them onto the floor to await pick up from the M.E. So I think,I'm pretty sure I know the horror of fires enough not to wish them upon anyone.

it's just a common saying in the fire service same as "It was a good fire". Now as we all know fires are bad, yet we call some a good fire , which simply means a couple rooms plus ripping, as opposed to a "ten cent fire". A small fire that caused little in damage.

These saying have been around since Ben Franklin .

People who don't know how to burn wood for heat (or ambiance) shouldn't do so until they learn how to do it without endangering themselves. It requires a bit of knowledge and personal responsibility, and it's certainly not for everyone.

That logic is fine when your nearest neighbor's house is 200' from yours and there are perhaps 5 neighbors within a mile, but what about a large city where that irresponsible neighbor's house is 25' from yours and there are 8,000 neighboring houses within a mile of yours? Any one of which may have another irresponsible wood stove user living in it.

Maybe we should ban regular stoves and ovens... they start more fires than wood stoves. Maybe ban lamps because someone could put a bulb in that is over the recommended wattage... or even charcoal grills... someone could go crazy with the lighter fluid. Do you see where I'm going here? We all know why they want to ban wood stoves... it is all about global warming, or climate change (whichever you prefer), automobiles emit more carbon into the air in a years time than any wood stove. It's all just another example of liberal governments wanting to get all up in everyone elses business. It gets rather tiresome after a while.

My comment was about peoples' personal safety when burning wood in their own homes.
