Having a little cabin fever I thought I would post last years spring turkey harvest. Both these birds were takin on state land using calls that I built.

Ya just had to post that!! LOL! I try to fight off the fever til atleast the middle of february. But seeing a large group of longbeards ,almost every morning on my way home from work. Doesn't help! ;D  Nice couple of birds you smacked last year. It was somewhat tough last year. We were able to get some nice longbeards. But had to work harder than past seasons for them. As many longbeards that I have been seeing I hope it's a good sign. And hope the woods are thunderin come spring.

I've been counting the days down since the last week of deer season!  And, once turkey season comes, I'll be counting the days down until deer season haha

Thanks for the comments guy's!! There is nothing like killing a bird with a call you built yourself. As far as the rattlesnakes go I've tried to avoid them at all cost!!! I was told a few years ago that the spot I hunt has a couple of den's but the lure of killing that longbeard over rides my common sence!! LOL!!

I hear ya man....I am really getting antsy for May 1st. Just put in my vacation days for the first week. I have my cell phone gobbling as a ringtone and a Big Tom as my background. Cant come soon enough!

I always thought catching a trout on a fly I tied was a great feeling, I cant imagine how I would feel if I took a bird on a call I made. Great job, now I need a lathe so i can make a pot call.

Here's a better look at one of Tom's calls that was used to take a couple of birds last season including one pictured in this thread.

I happen to be the proud owner of this call now!!  Tom makes some very good calls!!
