Buckstopshere
Man, those are some nice toms! Six longbeards, the closest one to the camera has some nice hooks. In the other photo, they measured just a hair under 1.5 inches. Edited March 11, 2016 by Buckstopshere

The NWTF keeps records and perhaps some individual states do too. I didn't dig it up, but I'm pretty sure that some have been taken with 2 inch spurs.. The longest that I have ever seen personally were 1 1/2 "....My personal best is 1 7/16 "....
LET EM GROW
I was beat in a contest by a bird that had 1-3/4" spurs about 6 years ago. I Saw a post on a different site a week or so ago, of a guy who had 1-7/8" spurs from North Carolina My sharpest spurs were off a bird that was only 1-3/16" big heavy bird.. Pygmy
According to NWTF records, the longest recorded spur length is 2.250" for an Eastern..It was a tie. One bird was taken in Kentucky and the other one in Iowa.
