Rattler
There are some huge Elk in PA now. The odds of drawing a tag are very high, and so is the price paid for one at auction now. http://www.theoutdoorwire.com/story/14594038016n8tzbxvxh3

Pygmy
The odds for hitting the lottery are better... I just missed out on that auction...My last bid was 84.5K.... All for shooting an elk in somebody's back yard.

landtracdeerhunter
I always thought of these auctions to be more of a donation. Edited April 1, 2016 by landtracdeerhunter

I have 4 or 5pts. It's only $10 so I do it each year. I'll probably never get drawn to hunt elk in PA. I only apply for Bulls. If u get drawn for a bull tag you are going to get a giant. Skillet
We apply every year. 5 preference points and 3 people in it. I hope someday we get to go. No doubt it will be the gf who draws. Edited April 1, 2016 by Skillet
Grouse
Drawing a bull tag in PA would be pure luck, but the state has proven the RMEF knows what it's doing. Sure there are plenty of huge bulls in people's back yards now, but PA is working to change that. PA made the mistake of using the elk to draw tourists more than reintroducing them as wild animals in the wilderness that could be hunted. If you have ever been in the PA Wilds area, you wouldn't feel taking a bull elk there would be so easy.
Uncle Nicky
I guess that the old adage "a sucker is born every minute" is true. $85k for an elk tag????????
ANTLERS
For 8K i'll go to Utah and shoot the same size bull on a private ranch.
Skillet
I can't wait to start seeing PA elk on some of the hunting shows that make us look so bad. Anybody else ever notice how celebrity hunters just happen to draw very limited tags with regularity?
