Full moon on eve of youth hunt

And not a fan. Over the years I've noticed a few times that birds a few days prior and after a full moon tend to get tight lipped. Talking to my brother he agreed He and Doc Pellham ( a few may have known him ) hunted quite a bit together and on one particular day had birds who sat in the tree tops nary a gobble until almost 10 and then the entire tree tops erupted. So my opinion to anyone going out for the youth hunt , don't give up hope if no gobbles at " go time ". Sit tight , birds may just be wonky with the moon and not touch off til later morning.

I too have found that full moon nights can keep birds on the roost a bit longer, in the morning. Looks like a good morning, weather wise for the young hunters on Saturday. Should be no problem if you have to wait them out a while. Best of luck to all who are participating!

Storm the night before, and clouds will negate full moon, the thing I don't like about a full moon is turkeys will hop trees late after you put them to bed as they seem to stay up later with moon at sunset.. may move 50 to 75 yards..

Never paid attention to the Full moon and its affect on turkeys behavior.  I have noticed many mornings a bird doesn't make a peep on the roost, and all a sudden as you said, mid to late morning the woods liven up with gobbles. I will try to take note on this for the future.

I still sit most all morning regardless, you know maybe doze off some when the warm sun hits ya and theres nothing happening.. you just cant beat being in the great outdoors, especially when neighbors and cars can not be heard...
