DirtTime
Not bad for dealing with the 'spur' grip. I think I could get much tighter with a reticle scope. Still fun to shoot.
grampy
Nice, real nice! Looks like a lot of fun for sure. Nikon makes a real nice 22 scope for less than $150. The red dots are ok for close up shooting but I prefer a redicle for a bit further out. JMO. Either way, have fun shooting!
DirtTime
Thanks grampy. It was a fun morning. Finally got to kill something this turkey season, paper. LOL. The problem I encountered with a basic scope was the charging handle. To get a full view part of the scope is behind the charger making it hard to rack. I may have to drop some coin on an actual AR scope. Even the g/f shot the "scary looking" gun. She liked it and did pretty well in her own right. She shot 20 rounds and had 9 in the black and two in the red.
dbHunterNY
I can't believe you would conflict your g/f so much and pressure into being an outlaw and using such an assault weapon! shame on you! ....HAHAHA seriously aren't 22LR's a blast to shoot? cheap too. I'm sure it didn't cost you $40+ either. I take it she doesn't shoot much at all? good job getting her exposed to shooting.
DirtTime
LOL dbHunterNY. Oh, we had our share of 'sparring' for years about the dreaded "black guns". I wore her down enough to where she said "If you can pay cash for it, then get it.". So, the ATV went up for sale. LOL She's done some shooting before we met, mainly a few hand guns. But, I would guess as she doesn't remember, maybe 10 rounds. After I explained how the safety, charging handle, and mag button worked she was good to go. I did the initial sight in at 25 yds, then I put a few down range at 50 and made a couple tweaks. Put up two fresh targets, one for her and one for me and we just took turns. She kept her target as a souvenir. Might take a pic and post it later. Total cost for gas, ammo, and lunch was only around $25. DirtTime
Sorry, forgot to take the pic and post of the g/f's target the other night. Here it is. She reminded me that in fact she only shot 15 rounds. She also pointed out that shots in the red square are three shots not 2. So that's 10 in the black.
