Rut status for Northern Zone?

Theres one for the SZ so I figured i would start a topic for us who hunt the Northern Zone to share thoughts on the rut...

I am not a bow hunter so i've only been out in the woods for the last 2 weeks and have yet to see much rut activity, i hunt a few hundered acres in the 6K area and seen few does and a 1 buck out of range but this was on opening day and seen nada since then, besides finding a few scrapes and 1 rub the rut seems to be nonexistent, field corn seems to be the most active food plot right now especially at night and i think they are bedding in the corn as well, cause i have not seen them active in the day or kicked any out of bedding... So what are you guys seeing in the north and will they get more active in day?

I have had a lot of doe's about an hour before dark but only bucks at night in 5H. Two new big scrapes but doe's look relaxed, I'm headed up Monday thru Wednesday hope to have better luck.

What few deer I have seen have been does.  They didn't seem like they were being pressured by bucks.  I also haven't seen didly squat in terms of rubs or scrapes.

 

Weather has been somewhat warm as well, so I don't know if that is throwing off the rut a little bit.

Not seeing very many deer.. starting to see a lot of scrapes though in 6a. 

More coyotes on trail camera in last few weeks than deer

Scrapes just popping up in 6G and 6J. Not much for chasing going on.

Same here......LOTS of coyotes here too.

Not seeing much rut activity in 6g or 6k seeing a few does but seem unpressured, only seen one buck ( a spike) and very few rubs or scrapes I think we are a week or so away which stinks because I'm off on vacation this week.I don't think this relatively warm weather is helping us any either.

Thanks for your input guys, its good i'm not the only one with few rub/scrapes and seeing no chasing... I've kicked up a nice buck twice this week, I'm going 13th-15th should be heating up hopefully, then I'm off to the Southern Zone (7A) on the 19th. Good luck this week guys.

I hunted 5J this weekend, and did not see a single deer.  For the last two weeks, all the pics on my game cam were at night and the number of buck pics dropped off dramatically.  I did see some rubs and scrapes around, but the deer were nowhere to be found.

6g...mostly night movement but have trailcam pics of 5 different bucks hitting my mock scrape over the last week...so they are just getting started.. real Rut a week away I would say...

Was in lower 5h Tuesday and Wendsday saw more does moving daytime then before. One buck late at last light, zero on cameras I have. First cam pull with zero bucks all year but headed to dinner at 7 a buck full sprint was chasing a doe. Headed back Saturday night.

Cameras showed doe with her 2 yearlings trailing her come through wednesday...at around 230...so they haven't separated yet...and a 5 pointer working at making a scrape over mine but he didn't put much effort into it...3 to 4 kicks of dirt...smells overhead branch and on his way

Just had a big 8 point follow a doe in couldn't get a shot, I think it's starting here in the northern tier finally

Hunted 6j big woods wed - today. Thursday had a buck chasing a doe in the dark, too dark to see him before he took off. Deer were moving, just no horns. Cams showed nighttime buck activity only. I'd say the next couple weeks will be prime as usual in that area.
