White House Marine guard duty

To settle a dispute between my wife and some of her immediate family members, do any members here know that 13000+ Marines applied for WH guard duty after Trump was elected and that 0 Marines applied for same duty and had to be assigned for the Obama administration? Something going around Facebook that I want clarified. These are the Marines that guard the front doors. Thanks.

I just talked to my brother . He was unfamiliar with the assignment process of the white house detail. He closed by jokingly saying "I only know how to take out bad guys and radio for air support."

I can't link...So on www.sync.yummy they go into detail on how these guys are chosen. So I'm thinking no to this rumor. The site that checks these true /false things says it's not verifiable.

This is absolutely a fact.  I saw the picture that said so.

Yes Steve...I found a detailed description of how the marines are chosen for the Whitehouse gaurd duties. On that marine message board. What the qualifications are and how even though chosen voluntary only. They can not be married or have dependents and recruiting is done with basic training graduates,vetted for any police records,ect, ect...
