My daughter who is 11 passed her NYS hunting training course last weekend.  The instructors were a father and son team which did a great job. The class was full with mostly young boys, some girls and a few new adult hunters. It made me think about going hunting for the first time. My Grandpa made me shoot at a milk jug that he place in the field by his home. He handed me a 1921 Ithaca double barrel shotgun to use. I took aim at the jug and fired. He forgot to tell me not to pull both triggers….. I learned a real lesson on the power of the gun that day.

Well, My food plot this year is the farmers corn field. The last time there was corn in that field my friend got 150 class buck. Time will tell!
