I have some scopes with no home so I was kicking around the idea of a 223 bolt action...Anyone have this rifle? Is it any fun or am I wasting my time....I well just use it at the range... Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

Apples to apples you can get a better cartridge in a bolt action. Personally only reason I would get a .223 is in an AR platform. For the amount I would shoot the bolt I would get a 22-250, .220 Swift, .222, or .222 Mag something that would outperform the .223 and still not break the bank shooting it. Triple deuce has been a proven cartridge I love mine they are a little different than the .223 brass wise but in my experience will be twice as accurate with similar ballistics.

Have most of those....That's why I thought 223...I don't take the AR out much...So I have lots of ammo in 223....

Then in your case why not? Never have enough guns! I don't have an AR-15 so I wouldn't buy a bolt in it, I guess I know what I need to build next...
