Just Lucky
I drive home the long way almost ever night so I can look for deer around one of my hunting spots. Its really bad. Every weekend I find something to do for the upcoming deer season. My wife is very patient.
Five Seasons
I go through a period right after deer season where I feel out of sorts. Then as these cold winter days progress I will take the occasional hike, but without much of an urge to be after the deer. I sort of feel like there's this truce period between us. I still jump deer on hikes of course, but I'm more interested in trying to spot a drop and looking at bed downs then I am with planning the next stand. It's just so cold, the days are short, the snow. The outdoors just doesn't call me. Then in March there's always a day or 2 of nice weather. That gets my turkey brain in gear and the fever sets in again.

genesee_mohican
Scouting this time a year, working on stands for next fall, shed hunting and running cams. I'll run out of steam around green up, but start up around the end of August, early Sept again when I get that 'urge'.
Doc
My entire front yard is tracked-up like a barnyard, and deer come here every day for supper. going down my driveway through the woods, I have to be always on the look-out for deer running across. It's hard not to be reminded of hunting with all that going on.
landtracdeerhunter
Yes, the deer are here too. Tracking through to get maple sap, I see prints in the snow and mud. I always see where the deer have visited. All small hoofed. Large protected areas under the snow are being dug up for food. Quite surprised not to find a second shed on my travels. Thoughts of deer hunting past, run though. Edited February 14, 2018 by landtracdeerhunter
