Last Spring, we took several drives trying to locale wild leeks. Notta!

Does anyone know of a place where they grow?

I have no problem asking for permission to harvest them. I just can't find any batches out this way.

I think I have them on my property. I've been told that's what they are.  Show up in the spring and smell like onion??  If so I have acres of them.  I'm in Cortland county. John

 l have two spots where I get them year after year, each about a half acre big. Both are right next to swamps in sandy type soil.

I find them near overgrown farmsteads, frequently on state land, but beware, no removal of plants from state lands. ( I don't pick em)

Hmmm......6hr drive for some leeks? Think I'll pass, but thanks. LOL

Kind of smell like a cross between an onion and garlic combined.

I have a ton but they are buried under 20" of snow. Tonight's forecast - 21 degrees and snow. At this point, it looks like I may not get into my place until June.

I’m going to miss sitting in the huge patch of them this spring   Potato leek soup is outstanding too.  Maybe find some more in some spots we’ve been invited to hunt.

I have a place near Wolf's Hollow I can pick them. But that's a little over an hour drive now.
