What kind of fish?

My friend sent me pic of this fish he caught at Braddocks Bay earlier today. I don't recall ever seeing a fish like that with the red fins on bottom. Any body know what it might be?

It looks like a big red-fin shiner to me.  Great musky or pike bait.

They are members of the Cyrpinidae (minnows and carps) family, and are typically 2-3 inches long, sometimes reaching 3.5 inches.
