WNYBuckHunter
Any idea what the dark red ones are? And the first pic is upside down. Are those the hen or chicken ones I’ve read about?

Are those the hen or chicken ones I’ve read about?I'm pretty sure those red ones are Exsudoporus frostii (Frosts Bolete) they are actually edible, but I don't recommend any boletes with a red pore surface(underneath cap). The first pic looks like a type of Ganoderma. While inedible, Ganoderma Applanatum(Artists Conch)is a medicinal fungi.Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk

Is all of it good or just the two big "petals" And does it refrigerate for a day or two or no? Edited August 27, 2018 by Fletch

The good news is it looks like you may have a reoccurring fungi if the rains continue. If they're bug/debris free just a very quick rinse is plenty. Yes I do most of my mushrooms in butter. Once sauteed a bit, the chicken mushroom can be used just like chicken such as bbq or stir fry.Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk

PREDATE
Now I see the sponge looking one was a keeper? Ramaria Flava. It's a species of coral fungi and is edible. It doesn't have tons of flavor but the texture is nice when pan seared. The outer fronds get nice and crispy while the stems remain meaty. A few fried florets would compliment a bowl of New England clam chowder or potato soup nicely. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
