silent death
Lol it will go no where ....there's way to many power hungry teachers in the school now let alone something like this to happen what is to stop a teacher from getting mad at a student or there parents from abusing this law nothing it's just another way to take guns away but it will not be that easy people in NY are fed up the law makers are walking on thin glass as it is now...but if you think about if your kid is bad then they can take the parents gun away even if the parent didn't do nothing wrong HOW ABOUT YOU let parents be parents and stop trying to wussify the kids of today most kids today think they are entitled to everything it is bullshit ...raise your kids how you were raised and stop fearing the county or the school and see if your kids don't straighten out Edited June 6, 2018 by silent death
Steve D
Right now the senate is in a dead lock and not getting anything done. There is no majority because one of the republican senators got called up for active duty so they don't have the swing and are refusing to even listen or vote. Our tax dollars at work again. It probably won't make it through this session but I am sure he and his cronies will be pushing it again in the next session. I hope "we" all remember these things when it comes time to vote in the primaries and keep him off the ticket or at least vote him out in November. Here's to ya Cuomo

No, the gubernatorial primaries are coming up in September. https://ballotpedia.org/New_York_gubernatorial_and_lieutenant_gubernatorial_election,_2018

The problem there is that his competition is far to the left - and most likely worse for gun rights. We need a republican back in office. I guess Marc Molinaro is our only hope right now. Although I haven't heard much at all from him. I know it's too early to actively campaign, but he needs to work on name recognition if he has any chance.

I've made this point before, but it is CRUCIAL that folks from upstate go out to vote in November if there is to be any chance to oust Cuomo. I know many think that it is NYC that decides the outcome of the election, but I can assure you that is not the case. In the last Gubernatorial and Mayoral elections only a little over 1 million voters turned out of the 8.5 million residents of the city, so that is certainly not a number that couldn't be surpassed if EVERYONE turns out to vote upstate.
Steuben Jerry
Hmm, mentioning Molinaro prompted me to check his status. I came across a comment on a news story about his running mate Julie Killian, that said she's pro gun control. Have to check that out some more - sure hope not! From her platform during latest election ,I'm guessing she doesn't quite grasp the idea of what fully automatic means; SUPPORT common sense gun laws including universal background checks, banning bump stocks and fully-automatic assault weapons, and raising the age to buy a firearm to 21. https://ballotpedia.org/Julie_Killian

She has to run a campaign in a Democrat heavy district thats in Westchester; tough to win in any way as a Republican let alone one wearing an NRA t-shirt. Look at Gillibrand; when she was my representative she got great marks among hunters and gun owners. Gave her a crack at the big money as a US Senator and she folded liked a cheap tent. Molinaro is interesting guy. Ran for a local Village board seat here in Dutchess at 18 years old and was elected Mayor the next year. Career politician and has been moved along by Republican party. I think hes falling on his sword; and would have been a better candidate for Congress.
Rattler
All the NY gun owners who voted for Cuomo because he's a Democrat, or claiming the SAFE Act was a good thing because they don't like "black" rifles either, are now standing around with their jaws on the floor saying, "Holy Crap! This could threaten me personally and get all of MY guns taken away". I'll bet they feel pretty stupid right now.
