Steuben Jerry
http://13wham.com/news/local/mendon-man-arrested-for-shooting-fellow-hunter-in-quebec The article isn't very detailed. Not passing judgement, but very sad all around.
bugsNbows
I will never understand how a “hunter” could ever shoot another “hunter”.

I do agree but can't find any pertinent details on that article or a google search on others. Could have been an accidental discharge. One life ended, one forever changed. What a tragedy. Nomad
My google found info....... Police did not share many details about the fatal shooting but said they were alerted to the shooting about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Relatives said it appeared that the two men were hunting at dusk on Friday and that Tompkins mistook Herrington as a bear. According to the National Post, Tompkins was released on $25,000 bail and is due to return to court in Canada on Aug. 27. Herrington was survived by his wife and the couple's two children. grampy
It's always so sad to lose a fellow hunter in this way. My heart goes out to his family. But this is worth repeating. Always keep your finger off the trigger, until you are 100% sure of your target, and what lies beyond it. It's rule #1 of hunter safety.
