wildcat junkie
Not a shooter, but I'm pleased with the performance of the trail cameras I bought for my son at Christmas. I had it set for 3 shot burst with 10 seconds between bursts. He certainly looks healthy and should be a nice buck if he lives for 2-3 more years. I caught him feeding the next night at 11:00 PM on another camera located about 100 yds to the north. I got 15 pictures of him that time. I also caught a doe 2 days later at the same location pictured above at about 40 minutes after sundown. I got 12 pictures of her. grampy
Nice pic's of a handsome young buck wj! It is fun to check the cams and swap cards, to 'see what ya got'. We started out a few years ago, with a couple cams that phade gave to my grandsons. I let them pick the spots to place them, and we soon got our first deer pictures! We had a blast that first year, going out and moving the cameras around and checking them every weekend together. Thanks Brad! Since then, I've purchased more cams from phade, wooly- (lucky wooly cams), and others here. Also from local retailers, to where we are running about a dozen cams now. And have half a dozen more in reserve. So many other critters besides deer we have pic's of, and I think that is the coolest part of having the game cams! And even a couple "what the heck is that" pic's too! Hope you and your son enjoy the pictures as much as we have.
wildcat junkie
I moved the camera around the corner from the previous photo location. Turns out that spike has a little brother. You can see my tripod stand just over the hindquarters of the bigger spike. About 250 yds distant. The "penthouse" is about 70 yds to the left

They are just plain fun. I have 6 of them and it's like one of the best parts of hunting season just to see what might be walking thru. Don't need to spend a fortune if you want to try it out. Walmart has a 8mb can for $28. And it works just fine. Not a big investment if ypur starting out to try them. You'll love it.

Besides deer, I got some pictures of squirrels and a porcupine in the last 24 hours at this location.. There were also at least 2 different does that showed up after dark. One looked a little scrawny and the other was in better shape so I could tell there were at least 2 different ones.

All I use I got 2 of them last Christmas for my son when Dick's had a $30 rebate on top of a good price. I think they were $59.99 before the rebate. We were shopping for things to "fill out" the amount we had budgeted for each person in the Christmas list. So far I'm really happy with them. I would like to have about 4 more.
