Just read jmark's comment. Is there a thing downstate where you can't buy certain firearms? I know that up here I could get any rifle or shotgun i wanted (even AR platforms) in the store. And if it's not in stock, i can order it. So maybe there is an upstate / downstate divide in how the stores handle firearms?

I do have an AR. I don't feel guilty about owning it one little bit because I'm positive it will never be involved in a crime. Gun crime is a large topic overall; the majority of gun deaths continue to be via handguns (mostly illegal) in the hands of idiots/gang members/criminals.

I was surprised to hear they hired 3 gun lobbiests and I wouldnt shop there if I had a better option to be honest. Being on in NYC, Dicks and field and stream are pretty much the only options I have around me for hunting items. I order from Cabelas when I can but I don't like paying for shipping when can get it with out paying for it

Good point If the people that they are shooting at are not armed I fell to see any advantage to one type of firearm over another really .

You take a deer caliber  bolt gun  and shoot up a crowd one bullet will go though 2 or 3 people and kill them all at close range a gun is gun .

Most of them carry multiple guns anyway.
