Hock3y24
I’d say that’s pretty acurate as fas as bones out meat goes. A 100lb dressed doe gets me roughly 40lbs of boneless fattless meat when I butcher.
stubborn1VT
I agree. 40% of dressed weight seems to be what I get. This is true if I butcher myself, or take to the processor I use back home.
Rattler
212 live dropping down to 165 dressed seems excessive. I doubt the guts weigh over 30 pounds in a 200 pound deer. If so my last deer weighed 160 dressed and must have been over 200. I estimated only 180.
moog5050
Gman - are you stirring the pot with another weight ESTIMATE chart. I am buying everyone a scale for Christmas. You are all on your own to figure out the water weight dilemma.
tommyc50
very close my friend shot a deer last year and I down loaded the penn deer weight chart and measured it and it said 43'' = to 178 dressed and we weighed it and it was 173 lbs. gutted. It didn't have a hanging weight though
tommyc50
yeah sorry it was 182lbs but within 10 lbs its close enough
