Crossbows Banned in Cortland County

The DEC is going to have there hands full their .....wonder if they'll actually in force it or let guys slide...on the sly....hhhhmmmm then again it could be a good money maker for the DEC coffers ....

I sent an email to DEC to confirm this and they verified it. They told me that their legal division is looking into what needs to be done to get them back in. The bill will probably have to be rewritten and passed again.

Hate to say it but this is why a seperate game commission with an ammendment to the state constitution for right to hunt/fish is needed...take the bozo law makers out of the equasion!!

Why where they banned? There is a place near me that the county is rifle and the town decided to go shotgun. DEC says that it wouldn't hold up if you got a ticket.

When they re-wrote the laws to add rifle into Cortland County, they did not include the crossbow in the list of weapons allowed. DEC officials for that region have already confirmed that they are indeed, illegal for Cortland county for the time being.
