Grizz1219
OK, filled my only tag for rifle season, but still want to take my son and a youth hunter out to fill theirs. I am finding nothing saying I can't squirrel hunt while they deer hunt. Am I missing it?? Trying to make sure I am not breaking any rules. Thanks in advance... airedale
You can hunt small game during Deer season, I do it all the time, but I think assisting others hunting big game without a valid tag is not allowed. Driving as in driving the vehicle to their spot so they can hunt? Because obviously driving deer would be assisting and not legal. Other wise you can hunt small game all you want as long as you are not some how helping them.

crappyice
Could you run across some a$$hat who says that even though you are clearly squirrel hunting you are indeed aiding the kids in their deer hunt by moving game???Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Private farm... I know most of the others that hunt it.. and I would literally be no where near the others hunting.. Would be a stretch for them to say I am aiding.. I would never try to bend any rule especially with kids involved. Showing them the proper way to do things is priority..
greensider
You pay for your license just like a deer hunter you have same rights to hunt should you well that depends on many things but ultimately it’s your right

Nomad
Years ago I’d tag out and be done early ,I wanted help my buddies but I couldn’t . Then I thought the law changed and as long as you had a license, you could push, drive and so on , I remember because I was very happy to be able to participate. I read the guide and looked online, but did not come up with anything .
Grizz1219
I just didn't want to just sit in the truck or sit with them increasing smell and movement.. let them hunt on their own... Figure I could get some exercise and shoot some annoying squirrels.. LOL

Grizz1219
I never think of bear hunting in NY... We just started seeing them on trail cams the past few years.. In Ma we have good #'s of them, and big ones.. AND... I can bring it home, No CWD in bears..
