I usually water in morning but today I was golfing in AM so I just watered now. He’s the cukes before watering and my biggest tomato so far.

Does anyone use tomato cages for squash to keep them vertical? I see online people do, but not sure if it’s too late and don’t want to injure the growing

“You can’t stop them!!! Only hope to contain them!”
I have never done that but I also never grew them again after my first season when they took over...pretty sure they even choked out a neighbor’s cat!

Nice. It may help to dig little trenches around your plants to make sure that water is getting to the roots and not running off. We need some rain. I’m amazed at how much better plants grow with actual rain water then with hose water

I plan on soaking in the morning and checking in the afternoon. Expecting to have to hit then in the evening

As Crappy said, might need to water a second time which is common sense for this weather.

Thanks. This past week, I was doing about 30min and then I would see some standing puddles. But I may check it out later afternoon to see if second dose is needed or not

Biz, I set my sprinklers for 2 hours.  Gives it a good soak.

Things looks great this morning I think? Took the pic before I put sprinkler on. Will do 1.5 hours this morning. Not pictured are my 3 basil that are doing fantastic and harvested 6 times already

I cant win this year . Replanted  18 pepper 8 cucumber... 6 tomatoes  3zucchini  3 summer squash  after the frost. June 13  it frosted.  Planted sunday. 2 squash plants dead  all others infested with cucumber beetles . Sprayed tonight ... hope I can save them .

Wife loves cucumber salads with tomatoes, cheese and EVOO. As do I.

On a side note, fresh basil picked today. Will be making my top secret pesto recipe later to put over shrimp & pasta.
