Just curious, ever since I went to FiOS, I will not swap back to cable, at least for now....

What kind of internet speeds you get?

Geez! I'm pulling 7.84 in and 2.08 up. I have the triple play package with Optimum. My building doesn't have FIOS. =(

I run with direct tv i love it i really love the nfl package its the best thing since football itself!!And i have verizon and love the internet my family have about 4 sources using internet wireless all day round and it works great!!Way better than cable and a lot cheaper!!

We have cable from Roadrunner. I get about 7 down and am lucky if I can get 1 up. Everyone in our area who has Roadrunner is fed through the same pipe and it is NOT fat enough to support all the customers. No FiOs here.

I wish we had FIOS out this way. At home I have a really slow DSL connection because its the only thing I can get out here. At work we have fiber.

Thats the same speeds I get from my dads place. Only option is the DSL as well, I wish they could at least do symmetrical.

I am so far from the closest D mark, they have 2 signal boosters in place to get me that speed lol.

Ping is short for "ping pong". It's the time, in milliseconds, it takes for a packet of data to be sent from your computer to a remote computer/server and then back. Edited November 6, 2011 by SteveNY

i think the problem is if you notice they are all connecting to a sy server and im shure we all live miles away!!

See thats my point ive only seen one server connect to another place beside sy.I notice someone download at allmost 20mb/s and upload below 1 thats horrible!!

speedtest.net has multiple servers available to run the test on, it uses the one that gets the fastest ping speed from your location. Today it looks like the Syracuse one is fastest.

Yea 90 percent of the time it pulls from sy..i have never pulled it myself from anywere else no on my home internet or my cell phone.I seem to get better internet with my verizon/direct tv package..I used to have road runner and i really wish i knew more about verizon/direct tv i would have gone with them sooner!!

You can choose where to test from too.

Yea but then it wouldn't be the true speed because you directed it to pull another signal beside the one you were connected to.If you look at the last few post there is only one on here thats not from sy.
