bird feathers legal

Does anyone know if using wild bird feathers is legal here in New York? I find a lot of different kinds from songbirds to seagulls,so i figured why let them go to waste.I'd also like to use crow,pigeon and if I can get duck/goose wings.I don't know if i missed it or there's no info on it.

Where you may run into problems is with any feathers that are from Raptors, they are protected big time, why I do not know as there are plenty of them around these days.
