burmjohn
Anyone play around with remote control planes / cars / trucks / heli's? I used to when I was a kid a lot, mainly cars / trucks. I recently asked the wifey for a plane for xmas and man its a blast. I got a little 3 Channel called the Night Vapor, you can fly it inside with a big enough space and outside only if the winds are below 3 mph. My wife wants to kill me because I have since ordered a micro 4CH plane and also a little heli Its a blast.... Can't wait til my kid is old enough to learn then I can blame it on the kid. I also have an old RC Gas Truck I've been slowly cleaning up and fixing, hopefully have it running by next weekend. I have to many hobbies and not enough time... My poor project car (a real car) hasn't seen any love since my daughter was born 8 months ago.
ELMER J. FUDD
There's a copter on tv that has plastic rings around the rotors so you can crash into things and learn. Good for the kids. Mine have already destroyed 3 r/c /choppers and the front bumper of the wifes car!
Lawdwaz
I hunt near a R/C plane field and it sure looks (and sounds) cool! Those babies haul AZZ! They take there sport serious too. It gets a bit annoying during archery season, they are pretty close to me but it doesn't faze the deer a bit, not surprisingly.
NYBowhunter
In Floyd Bennett field in brooklyn which was an old airforce base is a major RC place that has some of the nicest and largest RC planes that you can imagine a friend of mine who owns a hobby shop in brooklyn also created a RC car race track. From what I hear they also do RC drag races with 1/4 scale RC funny cars... I'm very close to there and take the kids to look during the summer. I had 1/5 and 1/8 scale monster gas and nitro trucks, but sold them in the last few years. I got my 2 older boys RC helis for Xmas and I think I used them more then they did...I'm looking into getting into RC again and try my hands at racing the cars. Some of these cars are extremely fast....Just gonna be hard to find the time,
GreeneHunter
I was always curious , Do they have an RC Plane that can take a picture or pictures ? I think that would be great !
tughillhunter
My lil brother is into the gas power r/c. Man they are cool, but he always has to get new parts for it, but that thing hauls at 45, 50mph, and sounds wicked. I would like to, but i am just to much of a cb. WNYBuckHunter
I used to be into that stuff, but gave it up about 6 or 7 years ago. The last RC I had was a Traxxas T-Maxx that was almost completely custom. I bought it as just a regular one and over the few years I had it, ended up replacing just about everything with performance parts, from the frame to the engine to the servos. The only parts that were factory we're the radio, receiver and battery box. It did over 60 mph. I'll see if I can dig up some pics. Right now the only thing I have is an Air Hog micro copter that my daughter got for me. I haven't played with it in a while, I should get it out again. I'd like to get another nitro truck again, if i do, I'll probably get the Traxxas Revo.
