TheFieldArcher
I was at the Eagle Arms gun show at Split Rock in PA on 3/24, there was a guide there from NY that had boar hunts, 3 days for $1000.00 and 2 boar limit, anyone know who this guide/ranch is? My buddy lost the information. Thank you.

SteveB
If it was for a shoot in NY, most pens are less then 300 acres. Don't see how it would take more then 1/2 a day for 2 let alone 3 days. And yes, I did it once for the experience - nothing that I would bother filming.
Woodsman20
I agree with Steve B - 1/2 day maybe a day depending on how many guys you went with. Not really "hunting" - more like a fun grocery shopping experience. I have been on a couple: - My first "Hunt" with my father = Tioga Perserve in PA. Best looking boars - nice tusks - big boars - good hunting expereince for what it is at least - meat was poor. - Good deal/meat hunt w/ some friends = Creekside Whitetails south of Buffalo NY. Boars were ok - hunt experience was average at best but the meat was outstanding - literally I would go again probably just for the meat - they offer a smokehouse butcher cut or they did it has been awhile. - Bachelor Party = Forgot the name but it is Reneselleuar Falls NY. Ok Hunt , OK Boars, OK Meat. There is also one in Homer NY - Cold Brook Hunts I think. Hope this helps. Mike
DeerStalker22
Woodsman, if you're talking about Renesselaer Falls near Canton ny the name of the place is Basswoods lodge
Dave
This is just another fenced in hunting area where the boars can excape and then repopulate the area and then we wil have the same problems at other states. This is how we detected the CWD in areas of penned up deer. I think if they are not in a natural state they shouldn't be here, only cause problems if they excape.JMHO

Doc
Thanks guys, actually looking to test a couple broadheads/review and get some bacon to wrap my backstraps with! lol... thanks again, another gun show coming up, hopefully they will be at this one too. So, if you ever make the hook-up, let us know how it goes. I have never been to one of these places, so it is hard to judge what the experience would be like. It would be nice to get a report. burmjohn
I'd like to try hog hunting down in Florida, seems they are all over there. My uncle lives in Vero beach and says he sees them in the farmers fields there all the time tearing things up. I wonder how open the farms are into allowing some hunting to help with the hogs. Paula
I think you don't need a license if your on private land, but you can't trap them? i know when i went down i did not need a license

northernborn
neighbors here hunt Wild Hill PReserve in farilee, vermont they keep telling me its as far from a canned hunt as you can get and still be on a 4,000 acre fenced farm. i know i've driven past it since the early or mid 1960s, i think everyone in vermont has shot a boar and a buffalo there from the chit chat in teh coffee shops.
