  1. Got this coyote 2nd day of northern zone bow. Came out 70 yrs up field edge and started hunting the end of field right to me. steped under a branch gave me a chance to draw and stepped under my stand maybe 10 ft and i let her have a rage two blade threw the top of lung right out between front legs blew heart out pretty much. went 25 yrd and dropped dead no kicking or twitching just stone cold dead.... first coyote with the bow what a rush tho no deer came out to the fields that night. with i could kill the rest of the coyotes help some of those little fawns make the winter.

  3. I have a friend that confronted some trespassers and told them that their trailcam's send an email immediatly to their phone ( a lie) and if they are caught they will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Haven't had any problems since!

  5. If you haven't lost a deer bowhunting, you either dont shoot at many or you haven't bow hunted for very long. If you hunt long enough you will lose deer it's a fact of Bow hunting life. People get excited and " lose there mind " when buck fever takes over. Overcoming this and following through on your shots will increase your kill shots. If I ever stop " redlining" when I have a deer infront of me I'll probably quit hunting. Almost having a heartattack is part of the fun of deer hunting. 12 ft and 20 yrds sounds like a flat enough angle to get both lungs on a high hit, though I could be wrong. Sounds more like you either hit infront of the shoulder high or shot over the back bone. Both shots are survivable. I shot a big 8 back 8 yrs ago the had a perfect slug hole through the top of theridge of backbone. One inch lower and I never would have had a chance to shoot him.

  9. Sorry, but you are wrong on that. With that line of reasoning there should never be a murder or any other felonious crime committed. Also, do you realize what a felony on your record does to your life? It affects it in many ways, you really want to ruin someones life because they dont wear a harness? If someone wants to go up a tree with no harness and falls out of the tree, affecting his family and himself, well, thats their dumb choice, which they have every right to make. Bottom line is, you cant legislate stupidity.

  10. Tonight, after sunset on my way out of the woods, less than 100 yards away I heard a pack of what sounded like atleast 5 coyotes howling and yapping to eachother. A little freaky, sounded like a pack of wolves !

  11. Thanks for the pick me up guys. I checked out the land on Monday afternoon and saw alot of rubs on small trees working the edge between creek and hardwoods. I also know where the does are bedding so I put myself between these 2 spots. Not going afield till Fri or Sat. Thanks again all.

  14. This is an intersteing topic for me since i have been videotaping in the wild ever since i can remember. For me its not about just geting the kill on tape, but trying to capture the whole hunt on film so i when im going through hunting withdrawals in the off season i can always go back and watch my videos and hold me over till the season starts. I also enjoy sharing my hunts with other family members/friends/hunters and doing all the editing to try and make it as interesting as possible. I guess everybody has thier own opinions and thats what makes people different. I also like that i can go back through all my footage once in a while and see things that i wouldnt even remember otherwise that i have captured on film over the years. My two brothers and i have a website called rubinofilms.com which we try to gear towards hunters in the northeast. We have a fourm like this one and even though there arent too many members its fun to share stories and info with the other hunters that have joined. WIth that said camera or no camera i still love being in the outdoors. There is nothing like sitting in my stand away from everyone and everything just enjoying the outdoors. John

  15. "Isn't it way better to just have it etched in your memory and maybe a photo or two with the animal once it's down?" It is certainly easier for sure...and the etching into the memory is a given anyway but yes, it is about documenting, preserving, and sharing your memories. I guess it's the same reason why people video/photography vacation and family trips.
