Shawn, Go back and reread the posts. no one was calling him names. The moron comment was not directed at the OP , it was at the other poster Sully and it was tounge in cheek because he said folks were gonna call him moron. Just as you said the guys actions that fell were careless.....they have been called stupid and speculation was made to a "macho-man" attitude. What is wrong with that? When did we actually turn into such a group of PC pansies that we can't call stupid, stupid? We can have conversations about a variety of topics but no matter the topic there will always be differing views. I have read many threads on here especially poaching where so many are talking about policing our own. That should be applied to more than just poaching. If I see or hear someone doing something that I don't think will reflect well on the sport I will call them on it...just like I hope others will do with me. I don't think debate is a bad reflection on the sport and in any conversation involving passion (I hope we all have that for our sport) there will be tempers and outburts involved. That is life and not just isolated to hunting. Just my 2 cents3 points

So when you have company over do you tell them where the scrape is in-case they have to relieve themselves. I do the same. F#%^@#$% back button wrong thread.2 points

Thanks for thinking of me Deaddeer. You are right it's all like veal. Thank god I do not take offence. It was my first and she looked bigger from a distance, when I shot Her she was thirty yards away. NO regrets here, no matter what anyone says off there soapbox platform. Deerthug, the boutia (hind legs) are going on the souvla this weekend. Plenty of garlic, lemon and oregano.2 points

Yup, thats pretty much it. Some guys down south refer to whitetails that way but it's really a western thing. Here's a pic of my Wyoming Muley. He's a 5x5 with junk. Brows and a kicker make him 13. The guys out west almost peed themselves when they saw the brow on him. I told them the brows look like a 2.5 yr old whitetail where i'm from.1 point

What you are saying is pure out bull. Plenty of deer are lost or injured each year by gun hunters, so your insinuations about archery hunters are nothing more than one hunter bashing another based on nothing more than ignorance and misinformation. Guys like yourself are the reason why hunters as a whole are easy targets for anti-hunting organizations. Facts are, in a perfect world, we would all make nothing but perfect shots, no matter what weapon we are using, but in the real world, bad shots happen. If you havent made one, you havent been hunting long enough. If you want to continue to trash talk bow hunters, start your own thread for it. Stop hijacking this one.1 point

Perfection...no...no one is perfect.....frustration more like it....u have to admit there is a lot of stories of lost deer on this site and this is only one ste of prob thousands across the country. What bothers me is that it doesnt seem to bother anyone else..response is better luck next time or don't worry there is plenty of season left. I was taught don't shoot if you don't think you can put it down. There are a lot of bad decisions being being made. The people that post their stories readily admit it in their blogs. "should have waited another 10 yds, should have checked the pins again before going out, and on and on"1 point

Thanks all for yor support. Mr. DeadDeer , I have hunted for over 32 years with a rifle and have harvested a crapload(thats some verbiage used by us WALMART hunters). I have hunted for a dozen+ years with a bow and this little doe was my prize. I'm grateful to god that you have NO problems. I think your social skills are much to be desired. Thank you for your congrats. You could have left the rest out, but, that would mean you would not be able to toot your own HORN. You do not need anybody else, you do a great job of tooting it yourself. It seems that there is an provocateur in every bunch. I was taught that if you do not have a good thing to say keep it your self. I feel that is a lesson we all need to keep in mind. I'm sorry that my tasty doe does not meet your minimum requirement of 130 inches. She met mine and I'm grateful! I have always refused to give in to a bully, and my dear poster that's what you sound like. So fair winds and good hunting my friend. May you find a state to move to that has very few Wallmart hunters and a crapload of Pope and Young Bucks.1 point

I dont think that statement even justifies a reply.. That dog could take on a fight in a few different way's. Im sure every bowhunter on this site would be wiling to rip into this one but me i think i will save my word's because god knows i dont stand a chance to fight someone with perfection!!!1 point

Buckthebuck, why kill him? It is a small wild cat? It is not a dangerous animal, no reason to violate the law to protect your children from a harmless animal. If it is legal, I have no problem with some one taking a bobcat. But illegally killing a bobcat because of some ridiculous concern is unacceptable. I cannot recall hearing of a bobcat attack before. I don't know how you manage to walk through the woods if you fear a bobcat...1 point

You need to try and get there on other days to catch them and keep them off guard. I hunt and own farm land near you . Here's a couple things I do.Starting late Aug. when guys are driving around looking in fields etc. in the evenings, I make it a point to go down and check my posted signs along the road as often as i can. I do this with either an AR 15 over my shoulder or a combat shotgun and a Glock on my hip. Next I sit at my parking spot smoking a cigar, with said gun leaning against my chair and smile at the p/u's driving by. Some nice nights I sleep in my truck out by the road. Next I have had a dec cop come by and do the robo deer, night time watches etc. Trust me have them parked at your spot while you talk for awhile and word gets around . Helps though since I spread it.... This started years ago when we had poacher issues and the dec was great. When I got the name of the suspected poacher, I would often park across from his house , just so he could see the same truck from where he was poaching. Look you gotta be the hard a$$ sometimes . I have not had so much as a foot print on my spot in years . For what its worth a large number of bow hunters I know "carry" while hunting. I don't because that would be illegal.1 point

You could rent one and do it with the help of some very strong buddies. I would use a cart like this http://www.google.com/products/catalog?pq=refrigerator+moving+cart&hl=en&sugexp=kjrmc&cp=13&gs_id=12&xhr=t&q=appliance+dolly&biw=1283&bih=654&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&wrapid=tljp1320683884546016&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2784068014430948089&sa=X&ei=IQq4Tv2MGIGq2gWxy9jMDQ&sqi=2&ved=0CHkQ8gIwAw# Th extra wheels really help when rolling to balance it. Just make sure to mearuse EVERYTHING. Door clearances and turning. The last thing wyou want is to get it almost through...lol1 point

I wish I could get a plate #. There is never any cars there while I am at camp. I wonder if it is guys from other camps that are sneaking over, but most of the neighbors are cool. One exception is the guy up the road, he wanted to have permission to use our land, but posted his up tight. I still catch those idiots sneaking around. Last May, his kid with his girlfriend was set up in our meadow with a turkey deke, and he tried to tell me that he wasn't hunting, just passing through. I asked him why he was there, he said "this is a legal right of way, and we're just going thru to the land on the other side of yours". No such right of way exists, and god help you if you get caught on THEIR land. IDK, maybe it's them, but like it was said earlier, they are locals. Not good to piss off the locals. Frustrating.1 point
