Stokes State Forest in NW NJ at 9:30AM on Saturday 12/11/10. This Bear had an estimated live weight of 300 pounds. It dressed out at 260. It was taken with one shot to the heart at 75 yards from a Savage Bolt Action 12 gauge 210F slug gun with a fully rifled barrel and a Nikon 2x7 scope. The ammo was a Lightfield Hybrid Sabot Slug. The bear took one jump and died 10 yards from where it was shot. It will become nice rug for my home in the Catskills.

Ill just add, i have been part of forums where mods really come down on guys for saying some things people say, constantly warning, suspending, banning, editing posts and deleting them altogether. And im telling you, you dont want to belong to a forum where its heavily regulated and where you feel you can not open up and state how you feel. Those type of heavily regulated forums stink and again im sure you would not want us regulating you. We are not telling anyone to not call it how you see it and we are not all going to see things the same way, thats what makes it interesting...

If a neighbor won't give you permission to shoot, then they probably won't allow recovery when you need it. The only backstop that should be allowed in any neighborhood is tight to the shooters own house. If you don't trust yourself to not hit your own house, you shouldn't be shooting there.

I can understand the mentality behind the thinking of some gun owners that we need to appease the anti-gun crowd by agreeing to ban certain guns that are preferred by criminals, look scary, have large cap mags, etc., etc. But what those gun owners fail to realize is how giving in to such pressure allows for even more encroachment into other areas of gun rights. There is not one area of gun owenership that hasn't been attacked in the past. Semi auto, sniper, black guns, cop killer ammo, shotguns, collapsible stocks, muzzle brakes, large cap mags, bayonet lugs, you name it. You gotta realize, anti's hate guns and think they should be allowed to tell you what you can own. If it were up to them all you would have left would be single shot rifles and shotguns. Handguns would be the first things banned. If they could show any actual decrease in crime after one of these laws have been implemented, that would be one thing. But all statistics show the exact oppoisite. Ex: The more they make guns illegal, the more guns seem to be used in crimes. Conversely, the more places they have allowed lots of folks to have CCW permits, the lower the crime rates have gone. I for one, do not want to allow anyone to tell me what I cannot own. I'll allow them to tell me what I can't do with them, meaning commit crimes. But letting them curtail my 2nd Amendment RIGHT ( licensing means it's become a priveledge that can be revoked ) to own a firearm of my own choosing is a little too close to a dictatorship for me to accept. As far as uniform national gun laws go, we have the NICS sysytem now, which is uniform and national. It's not the system that is broken, it's the people who don't abide by it. Straw buyers will always be a problem, even if private sales required a NICS check. I don't like having to go through NICS every time I buy a gun. I'd rather do it once and be issued a card for life that could only be suspended if I get convicted of a crime. But that would defeat the government's money train of NICS fees collected with each firearm purchase, and that is why they want you to go through it each and every time you buy a firearm. IT"S A TAX ON GUN OWNERS, PERIOD!! How are you gonna feel when a NICS check goes to $100 each time? Don't think it will? It's already gone up 20% since it began. It could easily be used to prevent people from buying guns by raising it to a very high level. Also, the NICS system could be upgraded at any time to say, things like a drunk driving offense, FALSE arrest, or simple FALSE accusation of domestic violence, are enough to revoke your gun rights, PERMANENTLY! The point is this my friends, they want to curtail our gun ownership until it becomes only a priveledge, and there are lots of ways to do that. If they ever repeal the 2nd Amendment in the Constitution, the game is over. We need to look at every infringement with a simple question. "Is this going to decrease crime, or is it going to decrease rights?". It's our own fault if we allow our rights to slip away.

Nope just a great looking well fed yote. See a buddy heard if you take a young farm animal and tie it out in the middle of a wide open field the yotes and foxs would come runnin in for miles. He says if you draw blood that would even bring more. I myself would never dream of doing such a thing and then post it on a great hunting site like this one where the so called bosses (Moderator) lets people bash others or even join in themselves. That would just open the door for more bashing and we all know there is enough of that all ready. Joe we didnt sell that one. I believe we have a new state record or something with him. Robinsons 91 pounder beat us out by a few lbs but im not sure if he kept him. I think he would make a nice mount or rug!!! Even if it is some kind of record i dont believe it would ever stand up because we never got any pics of the darn thing or didnt take it to a cop or dec officer to get a written record of the time,date and weapon taken with. This really sucks as im sure no one will believe us and i know a few on here are going to bash us and try to hold us accountable for our actions..... Our bad i guess!!!!!

Uncle Nicky ain't kiddin' when he says antelope are everywhere out there... They outnumber people in Wyoming, and the area around Casper has most of anywhere in the state.. I have a story of a real nice hunt I did a couple years ago with my fiance and 3 other couples, but I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll post it another time ..I'll just say that the four of us guys all got nice trophy pronghorns and the girls had a good time too. I just think that Uncle Nicky's offer is a real good opportunity for someone to "get thier feet wet" in an out of state hunt for a reasonable price. The odds of being succesful on a Wyoming pronghorn hunt are VERY high. Nothing ( fair chase) is guaranteed, of course..

500' is a long way for a bow, most people i know that parctice in their backyards or garages are illegal with this rule. say you have a lot 4 acres in size. or 440x440' you cannot discharge your bow on it with out permission, so a new city neighbor complains due the the fact they love all life.. your spot you have practiced in for years is now illegal!! most everyone parctices in their yard/garage.. the house across the street yep your probably illegal. A lot of camps that border stateland are on 5 acre lots you shoot next to your cabin your illegal!! 500' is not far!! it is a common sense change to lower it. it removes the being illegal with out knowing it factor that many of us don't even know we are/were!

Here's the problem ..... Take a look at the list of challengers. They're all a bunch of loser-crackpots. So in the end we are forced to choose the lesser of the two evils. What kind of way is that to choose the leader of the country? There is something very wrong when the career of politics only draws the corrupt and mentally deficient. And then when presented with all these idiots, we are told to choose one. ...... What a joke. Except it's not really very funny. Sure, when it comes to Obama, the choice is simple. He represents the absolute extreme of the philosophy that I believe has ruined this country. But let's face it, the alternatives are not much of a prize either. No wonder the American voter gets a bit confused at times. We're always given a no-win choice.
