  3. WOw , that estimate you got is unreal. I bet he is figuring the cost of ripping the old metal siding off. Just one question, is the siding metal or Aluminum ? If it is Aluminum, that may just pay for your vinyl siding as clean aluminum for scrap is running .60 cents per pound as of a few days ago.Wow even at lowes if you went with White or Brown the siding is $170 a box and you would need 16 boxes. That only $2700 , then says $3000 for your j-chanell(you will need alot of these as you have 52 windows) and corners and nails. You can buy pump jacks at lowes that used 2 x 4 nailed together to make your posts. The vinyl siding is easy as can be the most important thing is to get the starter strip nice and straight.

  4. I guess theres only 1 way for someone to do it. Cut a hole your pocket, fill it with seeds, and walk around state land.

  5. True . . . Posting it on the internet may have been going a little too far. Maybe he could have handled it a bit differently. I know what if he did what he did privately and left the laptop in his daughter's room where she can find it and tell her a little white lie that he was fixing it when suddenly the laptop jumped up and attacked him and he had no choice but to defend himself?? Justifiable Homicide of a laptop perhaps??

  6. Yes but we don't sit in a chair and give a speach about the person who may own the target before we go and shoot the target..this guy appears to be a bit of a ding dong...just saying

  7. Steve 863 & Grow, If he had done this with his daughter standing around or making her video tape him shooting the laptop then I would agree that it could be looked upon as abuse and CPS should be knocking on their door. But I don't see any difference here than someone shooting a firearm at a "target" like we all do when we sight in our rifles/shotguns etc pre-season be it at a shooting range or on someone's own property (provided of course that you are in compliance with all regs on discharging a firearm), and posting it on youtube or some other social networking site. The laptop was the "target". His daughter was NOT the target nor was there a picture of her on the laptop as a target. Would I do what he did?? Of course not! But all he was doing was making a point to his bitc*y daughter and try to teach her some sense of respect. Sometimes it takes drastic measures like these to get a point across. I remember the days when I was young and all my father had to do was give me a look. My brother and I were never beat, hit or threatened. All it took was his look that commanded respect. When I got the look, I knew right there that I better high tail it to my room. It is no longer easy to get the respect we as parents deserve with today's kids because of what society and the media has burned in their heads. Parents are afraid of disciplining their kids for fear of prosecution. Then there are those parents who don't even give a rats a$$ about what their kids do with their lives.

  8. Come on steve, youre acting like he pulled it out in a fit of rage, in front of her and started blasting away. Thats not the case at all. He did not menace in any way with it. Grow, Im sorry that you think that way, but you are not correct. Social services has to have proof of abuse to make anything stick, and even then, it can be tough for them to do anything in the end. The type of attitude and thought process that you are displaying is half of whats wrong with our society. Kids think they cant be punished, and that all they have to do is cal child services on mommy and daddy if they think they are being mean. BTW, Im not trying to disagree with you just to disagree with you, even though thats the way you are taking it.

  12. Which he said she would have to pay him back for. If you listen to the whole thing, it sounds like she had done something similar and been more lightly punished before.

  13. So the solution is to pull out a gun and shoot the damned computer?? I tell you with attitudes like this gun owners will always be looked at as a bunch of redneck looney birds. I have no gripe against a parent reprimanding a kid for something as stupid as a facebook posting complaining about the parents, but videotaping yourself shooting a computer and then posting it on the internet is honestly as stupid as what the kid did. Maybe if the daughter does something similar again he will pull the gun on her? Stupid insane family if you ask me.

  22. Have fun with it. I am buying one for my Dad for Fathers Day this year. I havent been able to get his old Marlin 22 to feed properly, even after many cleanings, and he has been a big help to us through the birth of my son, so I figured something nice was in order this year.
