the teacher should have his/her life run through the ringer. I would love to see the NRA step up and take him/her on. Abuse of power and does not deserve to teach.2 points

Heres why the system doesn't work IMO 1. society to start with A. ppl taking a good idea to help "save" a "group" of kids and taking it WAY TOO FAR 2. Technology A. It went from a tool to aid in learning to replacing THINKING 3. Jobs A. this country has in good part has two parents working 40-70 hours a week. Or just one parent working those hours ...to make ends meet 4. Come on...No on can possible say Media doesn't have a part to play2 points

Belo- You of all people should be aware of what kinds of negative things can happen when people are in the minority or refuse to support the organizations and activities that they supposedly feel passionate about. Support means numbers. Numbers mean power. Power means control over how you want your activities conducted, regulated, and maintained When you lose that control, there are plenty of other people waiting on the sidelines to take advantage of weaknesses. You've seen it happen. Of course I don't believe that crossbows will even register a blip on the over-all hunting numbers. They may serve as a conduit that shifts hunters from gun season to bow season, but in terms of adding over-all hunter numbers ..... I doubt it. But I will say that we cannot and should not under-estimate how serious this problem of shrinking hunters is. Don't belittle the problem. We can't afford that kind of apathy. As we continue to lose hunters, we continue to become politically irrelevant. With animal rights people gaining in numbers, resources and influence in government, hunter declines are the dreams of these people and they certainly know what to do with any advantages that we hand them.1 point

To all of you now raising children in this screwed up society...please tell them not to swallow their convictions or ability of independent thought...to be respectful in doing so......but do tell them when a teacher gets in their face...calmly say I need to call my parents...make sure you call and write the school informing them that in a disciplinary situation that your child IS to be allowed to call you and is NOT to be questioned until you are there... It took me two run ins...then I did this....that put an end to my kid being a target1 point

Did they call the cops on you for wearing a naughty tshirt in school? Its easy, you give the kid detention, suspension, something like that. Theres nothing in the article that said the kid was volitile or violent. Good lord.1 point

Speaking of clocks - sort of. http://www.sunrisesunset.com/usa/New_York.asp Spent the night at camp - in the morning the access road was slightly blocked by 3 Turkeys, 1 Tom doing the dance, and two hens. The hens were a little spooked by the Jeep and crossed the road, Dragging him along, then they changed direction and so did he. I'm thinking the Tom wouldn't have cared if I was driving a battle tank.1 point

growalot...Couldn't agree with you more on hunting the hens and does: Where they are is where the toms and the bucks want to be. (I chuckle when I hear a deer hunter say, "I'm not hunting that are any more...only does and fawns there!" Hmmm...makes you wonder.)1 point

Uh, ok there bub. A kid deserves to be arrested for refusing to take a shirt off because the school rules says he cant wear it? Get real.1 point

Some pics from a new spot I found when scouting. I found a crossroads of where 3 trails or so merge and split again. Was thinking of throwing a bow hunting stand up here this year. Its pretty thick all around with the exception of about a 30 yard area. The trails going through here are really worn through, so it must be fairly active, maybe more so in the warmer months. My old man just swapped the card and checked the batteries and uploaded the photos. Hoping for some more activity in the warmer months. Seems like in Feb and March they only passed by the camera every 2-3 days. More picture coming shortly, waiting on his slow DSL to upload them all to me.1 point

We became a target by being non-muslims. Google "Beslan, school, russia" to see what these terrorists are about. This bombing was a test, they are seeing what the dumb infidels will allow and accept. They are basically "testing the fence" with this one. These two are pattsies, just tools used by the ring leaders.1 point

It's in Knoxville, PA, for Pete's sake... Other than a few high traffic days , like last weekend's grand opening and maybe the day before the PA deer season, there aren't likely to BE 25 people on Main St in K'Ville on any given day.. Red headed chick ? Perhaps she was the one that sold me the 3 pounds of powder there Saturday. I would have flirted with her, but it always bums me out when I do that and then she tells me that I remind her of her grandfather...1 point
