  1. You should try to handle your equipment with your left hand...Might be a welcome change lol
  2. I shoot a Matthews Z7. 70 pounds at 29". I shoot Beeman carbon arrows at 340 grains with a G5 Montec fixed blade 100 grain and luminoc. Almost always a pass thru, unless I messed up the shot (sorry but it happened and watched my deer run away with my arrow). I recently switched to the Rage extreme 4 blade mechanical because the G5 was sometimes lacking in the blood trail department, but that doesn't matter when you see them drop.
  3. I have to agree, don't dare for the extra weight. That's one of my reasons for loving the ladder/hang on - no extra weight...if fact, nothing extra to carry. Second reason is the ease of ascent/descent - no sweating. The only thing missing for me is the mobility. Since I am not Moog, I can't simply carry my tree with me lol.
  4. I have used a crate on all my dogs. They learn to like it and eventually it becomes their little safe zone. Kinda like a teenager and their bedroom lol. The barking will stop, just be patient. One trick for the housebreaking, albeit too late, the cage should only be big enough for the dog to fit. If it's too big, they can do their business and lay down in another part of the cage away from it. The idea being, they don't wanna lay it so they hold it. After that, when they start to bark, it's because they wanna go out to do their thing. Good luck.
  5. I love my Summit, but hate the sweating! An hour after getting settled in, I am usually freezing. I have some ladders that I love. My Field and Stream XL has a large platform that is 16ft off the ground and a very comfy fold up seat. This year began using a hang on. Like the hang on more than the ladders because I can get higher (18-20ft at platform). I may try a saddle next season. Reason being the portability. Not liking what I am hearing abut the small platform though.
  6. Statistically speaking...more ppl fall form 14ft than from 40ft lol. I never used to like being tethered either, until I climbed a smooth bark tree on a windy day and thought to myself I must be dumb, stupid and crazy. Now I feel naked without it.
  7. Statistically, more ppl die from a 14ft fall than a 40ft fall. Get a harness, if not for you, for your kids. OSHA requires a PFAS for any fall risk greater than 6ft. Just sayin...
  8. Pm me so we don't clog up this thread
  9. If you have lineman's loops on your harness and two climbing carabiners, the belt can be made for around $20 with rope from Home Depot. Get a 10ft piece of 5/8" rope and a second piece of 5/8" rope 3.5-4ft long. Tie an overhand knot on one side of the long rope, leaving a good 4-6" loop, with a figure 8 at the other. Use the short piece to make a prussic knot. Connect to your harness with the carabiners.
  10. Agreed...but this moog. Trees bow down to him lol
  11. Its a must have for hanging sticks. It keeps both hands free to get the job done. I made my own Like Bruno. Used it to hang my sticks and stand. Couldn't imagine trying without it.
  12. I was out yesterday morning but had no signal to post anything. I sat from 6am till 11 and saw nothing. Not even a squirrel. So my wife texts me to ask how goes the hunting. I tell her nothing is moving and she sends me a video of an 8 pt in my driveway as she laughs. Nice little 8. I am not sure why I can't post the vid. I got it as a text but it doesn't show up in my gallery. I tried saving it to files and tried to upload from there but it keeps telling me their was an error with the upload. Wrong format (MOV). Tried to save it as a dif fomrat but can't. If anyone can offer a suggestion, I would love you all to share in my misery from Sunday lol.
  13. That’s a nice buck. Hope to see you get him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. This is a pic of the 9 that comes by often. It was taken in august from my driveway. He was in my neighbor’s yard. Seen him recently but didn’t have phone to get another pic at the time. He’s bigger of course. He’s nice for a 3.5 ur old. Can’t wait to see him next year. I think he will have a big rack one day. There is no where to hunt in my neighborhood n no predators. He only has to worry about cars lol. My wife almost fed him by hand. I could prob take him w a hammer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Don’t have a pond by me only the bay. Gonna let him sit until spring. He had maggots on him so I’m hoping they take care of most of what’s left. Then I’ll try the pressure washer I read about on the euro thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. No. This is a small to medium 8 in my book. His mains are very skinny. The one I’m after is a bit better. Haven’t seen him in a while. Hope he makes it...at least till I see him. Never found a shed before. Don’t think this counts lol. Now I need to try the pressure washer thing to attempt my first euro. [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
