  1. Brand new in box Centerpoint 4x scope. PM address and I'll send it off.
  2. My steel plates on my handgun range are getting rusty.
  3. Starting with bow (PSE)if we get some chilly weather. Warm keeps me out of the woods. Then its crossbow (Excal and New Centerpoint) and that's when I get serious as the rut warms up and we're getting nice and cold. After that rifle (TC bolt and Savage bolt) Then muzzleloader (CVA)
  4. I started to bow hunt in the 70s and everyone was using recurves at the time, even in the 1980s many hunters still used recurves. Got my first compound bow a Martin wooden riser bow kit sometime mid 1980s, im pretty sure it was 84. It wasn't until that time that compound bows started producing the speed and technology that really seperated them from recurve bows. And in the 90s the compound bow technology revolution took off like a rocket. But the new generation of bow hunters demanded that technology and recurves quickly fell into the abyss. We can re-examine when and how it all happened but like I said previously a new generation of hunters will decide what the future of bow hunting will look like. I could think of hundreds of times where someone could've set limits on the evolution of the compound bow. With the Asian manufacturers now producing quality xbows sales of xbows are booming in NY. I personally will welcome full inclusion.
  5. I think crows are some of the worst. They're great at spotting nesting hens. Coons are up there too.
  6. It's a good idea not to be on the move at dawn or dusk. It surprises me how many hunters Ive seen over the years walking in at those times. Deerz can't see orange so I have no problem with it.
  7. If you look at the inflated market of 2005-2007 that was created by George Bush JR deregulating lending institutions so they could start giving 500k hedge fund secured mortgages to min wage workers, yes prices will drop drastically when the crash comes. Only in the last yr have people come out from underwater on homes they bought during that period. If money means anything to you now is not the time to buy. Thinking your going to find some sleepy upstate old timer who's going to give you the deal of a lifetime is unrealistic. Hint, everyone knows there's a mega real estate boom happening.
  8. You picked a bad time. Competition is tough. City people are buying homes and land up here like crazy and it's not uncommon to get into bidding wars in the process with homes and land selling for more than the asking price. From an investment standpoint your not going to gain buying now in NY and will end up with property that's worth less than you paid for it in a year or two. You'll be competing with alot of cash buyers too who have an edge because sellers like cash deals.
  9. Hey remember yrs ago when the Tach 15 was introduced by PSE for 1600 dollars and the Anti Xbow guys lost their sh*t screaming "THIS IS IT" Crossbows are officially rifles now, lol. Thing shot an pretty impressive 412 fps but was long as a freakin canoe and cost 1600 bucks and heavy as one. Now you see them on eBay and they don't even get bids, and if they do sell they maybe fetch 400. Boy I don't know which side got more wrapped up in PSEs advertising hype the anti or pro xbow guys, Ah them was the days..LOL!
  10. I've seen that on the east end. One in the front bucket seats of a TransAm once. Sucks
  11. The Ameristep is better quality. Fabric and zippers just seem better.
  12. 10 Days in Greece, Awesome. That's on my bucket list.
  13. Desortos is the place. There's one other....yourself. You'll do a butcher job on the first but by the second you'll be moving along. Isn't hard to do. Lots of You Tube info
  14. Yes, and this is something neither you or I will be able to control in the future. These things will be decided by a younger generation just like when the new generation of hunter in 1980s demanded compound bows be brought into archery. But for the interim even if crossbows go full inclusion I don't think we'll be seeing major changes in regs in our time. Air bows, magnetic rail bows will come but we won't be concerning ourselves when it does
  15. I think it was a legitimate question. Because it seems the majority of antis who claim to know everything about the ease of hunting with a crossbow have never even sat in the stand with one or encounter live game with one. And I do understand anti CBers fears of where the technology ends and the truth is it will probably not. Public sentiment will keep it regulated but those regulations will erode over time regardless as the people/majority call for it. When will the technology on vertical bows end. You never hear much about that with the anti crowd. I can hold my vertical bow with 80% letoff longer than I could hold any bow I owned 20 years ago and Im 65 now
  16. Almost all Xbow hunters started out or are also vertical bowhunters such as myself and have seen both types of hunting. Most die hard VB hunters have never spent any time in a stand with a CB so they speak without experience. They just have this imaginary picture in their minds that they base their decisions on. I've heard some of the most ridiculous assumptions made by the anti CB crowd as to effective range, accuracy etc.
  17. I've seen guys shooting dirty hot ML barrels and setting their crosshairs to that at the range, just to be surprised at the next range visit with that first shot thru a clean cool barrel landing on a different spot on paper. The shot you take at a deer will be with clean cool barrel, just something to remember. I leave my smokeless center fire rifle barrels uncleaned for the season because that where they were when sighting in. But you can't leave a ML uncleaned for any period of time.
  18. Nextel Cup, lol! Didn't know that. Didn't realize they had anything but US cars either. I stopped watching back in the 90s.
  19. Didn't they remove cigarette ads in like the 70s?
  20. I heard that's where they raise the Alpacas for trumps head
  21. I've never seen it offered here by me locally and have been looking for less expensive options other than dirty Russian steel but will keep an eye out for it.
