Vaccination

Your question was: If you’re vaxxed, why do you care about if anyone else is? The links provide an account for how the unvaccinated serve as reservoirs for the emergence of new variants of concern. -

Fortunately, enhancement does not appear to be a cause for concern here. Hey, here’s a fun podcast that can make some of the science accessible: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/science-vs/id1051557000?i=1000543803844 or https://gimletmedia.com/shows/science-vs/49h6996/omicron-do-you-need-to-freak-out -

You’re getting dangerously close to identifying some of the dots that matter but you still haven’t connected them. Here are some pointers. 1- breakthrough infections (I think you’re calling them leaky) show a higher virus clearing rate 2- communities with unchecked infection rates serve as reservoirs from which novel variants of concern are most likely to arise. 3- and here we connect the dots: vaccination not only decreases the severity of illness but also increases virus clearance rates. This reduces the transmission window and also likely reduces the likelihood of seeding novel mutations that will spread to the community. If the community is largely vaccinated, said risk is further reduced. -

I’d pay to see a picture of your many non sequiturs, straw men, and conspiracy theories. Also include a thing or two about how you think infection and contagion work and why you feel basic measures of protection insult your sense of manhood. -

If you’re going to quote me, put a little bit of effort to ensure that your response follows the context of the conversation. -

A break from the frigid weather… -
Is there any difference in feel with the 6-piece clearwater fly rod that would undercut the advantages in portability?

Pulled a tick off me this morning. Re-sprayed my hunting clothes with permethrin.

Bummer. Glad you caught and fixed it before fraud.

Check the email it was sent from. Likely phishing. Stop clicking on links or signing up for sweepstakes!

This fits. It’s tabloid crap…which is effectively what right wing news is today.

I applaud your efforts to reform the forum and to make it more family friendly but you went about it the wrong way. Remove all threads that you think are inappropriate to children, clarify new rules (or the enforcement of past rules), and extend a clean slate to previous offenders. Going after @Chef is clearly some cheap face saving attempt by @fasteddie for self-exiling from the forum over a past disagreement with @Chef. If @fasteddie wants to resume moderating he must remain above the fray. You cannot tolerate the vulgarity (and definitely not child appropriate) of the Political Humor section, one in which @fasteddie regularly posts, and claim that posts in the Daily Chuckle go too far. Its hypocritical and inconsistent. It's obvious that @Chef is not just a long time member, but a regular contributor whose generosity has been felt by many on this forum, including by me. Fasteddie, if you want to call the sitting vice president a "ho", rant about gender dysphoria, and flex your muscle by banning members because of petty feuds, step back from the moderator's role. As the wise Creed put it, "I've been involved in a number of cults. As both a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower, but you make more money as a leader." Fasteddie, if you want to have fun then stop pretending to lead.

Good for you on the booster! Fingers crossed that one day there will be a fitting gender box for you.
