I don’t watch much TV but I’ll scroll through Fox daily. Fox has gotten really bad. The headlines read like a tabloid. They draw in clicks with a wildly provocative title. If you read the read the article you often find that the headline claims were not just unsubstantiated, they’re often not even covered by the article. It’s brazen. I recognize that CNN uses a similar approach to headlines but the articles always address the claim. In Fox it’s as though the “editor” hasn’t even bothered to read the article. Fox had a couple of terrific folks doing actual journalism. It’s a terrible shame that they couldn’t hold on to them. The New York Times is unbeatable. First rate journalism. They’ve had a few hiccups and missteps over the last year but they’re way ahead of the pack. For network news, CBS does a great job and it’s as middle of the road as you’re gonna get. Anything John Dickerson covers is worth reading/watching. He’s on suspension for using the n-word. I haven’t spent much time with it over the last few years but boy was it eye opening! We really don’t cover the world adequately in America.

I was commenting about missteps taken by investigators in an effort to safeguard their own butts. Active investigations are not commented on. That’s FBI policy. Hilary’s server was poorly managed. Although poorly managed networks (personal phones, multiple email accounts, etc) was the norm back then, it was important to identify errors and to correct them. Yes, failures in due diligence don’t excuse poor practices. Btw, what was that all too common line Trump would say when caught with his pants down? Something about “Nobody briefed or told me” about it. Or “I’m only hearing about this now for the first time.” “This” being some a major global crisis or incident. Good riddance.

It’s striking how much pressure is on investigators to eliminate any appearance of operating within a political system as they operate within one. It gets to a point where they’re afraid to issue reasonable charges or prosecutorial recommendations lest they too come under the microscope. Cuomo no longer has the standing to be governor. I hope there are other viable paths to his ousting if he chooses not to resign. We saw a similar story with James Comey. He was a Republican appointed FBI director who saw Trump for the utter clown that he is. He assumed that there was no way Trump stood chance and so he violated FBI protocol and announced that a Hilary aid was under investigation because of a laptop they had recovered from her philandering husband (you can’t make this stuff up). Of course there was nothing there just like there was nothing with the server. But the optics changed and this singular attempt motivated by a false sense of political transparency, even as it violated FBI protocol to not speak about ongoing investigations, gave the country 4 years of what is arguably the worst president in the nation’s history. The country held on initially, propelled by the momentum of the Obama economy (look at growth rates, the trend was there long before Trump took office). Unfortunately a crisis hit and Trump’s inadequacies and failures in leadership were too large to overcome. I hope the GOP shapes up and can put forth a candidate worthy of the office. Strange times my friends. 4 weeks to early goose season.

What a thorough and well conducted investigation. May this be the investigatory standard to which we hold all those office. Unfortunately, the consequences are still wanting…

You’re making a strong public health case for a healthcare system that is accessible to all. An undocumented immigrant is not usually treating critically ill patients in a hospital setting which is another reason that all healthcare workers must be vaccinated.

Not sure why you would say that the delta variant has a lower pathogenicity… Viral count tends to correlate with the severity of symptoms.
